Mount Merapi or Gunung Merapi is a conical volcano located on the northern part of Yogyakarta and has elevation 2.968 meters above sea level.

It is the most active volcano in Indonesia and has a very large eruption in 1006 is claimed to have covered all of Central Java with ash.
In October 2010 was the last eruption of Merapi Volcano and more than 10.000 villagers were evacuated as lava and the pyroclastic flows are known locally as “ wedus gembel” (shaggy goat in Javanese ).

At present the volcano is still active and it often pours out the lava, The Sultan ( King ) of Yogyakarta hold a ceremony to bring offerings to Merapi in order to keep the volcano quite.

BROMO mountain,Its landscape that`s as evocative and resonant as any in souast Asia, Mount Bromo ( 2392 M ) is a midget,but volcano`s beauty is its setting ,not its size.Rising from the guts of the ancient Tengger caldera.
Bromo is one of three volcanis to have emerged from a vast crater.

IJEN CRATER,part of a reserve that stretches northeast to Baluran National Park,was at one time a huge active crater,134 sq km in area. Coffee plantation cover much of the western area of the plateau ( alongside lush forest,where there are few settlements.The plateau has a number of difficult to reach natural attractions,but most visitors come for the hike to spectacular KAWAH IJEN.
The starting point for the trek to the crater from pos paltuding,The steep 3 km path up to the observation post takes about 2 hours.Today ,its quiet but active volcano and the landscape is dominated by the volcanic cones of Ijen ( 2368 m)/

The ideal time to visit is during the dry season from April to December.
